Research Assistant I

The Research Assistant I will support the Leukemia department by assisting with sample coordination, data management, and research operations essential to clinical and scientific goals. This Research Assistant I plays a key role in ensuring accurate data organization, smooth laboratory communication, and high-quality contributions to research outputs such as manuscripts and presentations. The Research Assistant I will work with faculty, staff, and collaborators to support ongoing studies and maintain data integrity across systems. The Research Assistant I will also assist in project coordination, sample tracking, and communication with partnering laboratories to ensure that research workflows remain efficient and compliant.
The ideal candidate for the Research Assistant I role will demonstrate strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and a foundation in basic science at the bachelor's degree level. Candidates with strong analytical skills, familiarity with research environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively will be well positioned for success. In the absence of preferred qualifications, the minimum education and experience requirements serve as the key criteria.

Responsibilities
Clinical Research & Project Coordination
• Coordinate research samples among various laboratories
• Track available research samples and communicate between laboratories for sample sharing
• Assist in manuscript preparation and submission

Data Analysis & Interpretation
• Create tables and figures for presentations and publications
• Perform statistical analysis including Chi-square analysis, Student's t-test, and log-rank test
• Communicate with statistical collaborators for complex statistical analyses

Data Organization & Maintenance
• Extract demographic, clinical, and pathological data from Epic
• Create and organize clinical and research databases for analysis
Other Duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
