As a Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center work within the Telemetry / Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, which provides care to individuals undergoing complex procedures such as esophagectomies, pneumonectomies, pulmonary resections, and vascular interventions. The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an active RN license, and at least 12 months of recent experience in a medical/surgical, telemetry, or ICU setting.
Shifts available are days and nights.
Shift Hours: 7p - 7a or 7a - 7p including rotating holidays and weekends required.
There are 3 x 12 hour shifts for a total of 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities
Patient Care Management
• Assess patient needs and determine required nursing and multidisciplinary interventions
• Provide care using clinical competency, compassion, and adherence to safety practices
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage emergency situations
• Use technology and clinical systems to support patient care
Collaboration & Care Planning
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, patients, and families to plan and evaluate care
• Ensure continuity of care through discharge planning and coordinated services
• Serve as an advocate to uphold patient rights
Documentation & Systems Use
• Document care according to established standards
• Access, input, and retrieve information from electronic systems
Coaching & Team Support
• Train, coach, and assist team members to promote efficient use of resources
• Participate in assisting team workflow and patient care priorities
Research & Quality Improvement
• Integrate findings from research studies into practice
• Participate in data collection for ongoing studies
Other Duties
• Perform other duties as assigned

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.

EDUCATION
- Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing.
