The typical work schedule is rotating shifts to support hours of operation from 8:30am-7:30pm.
Primary work location: Northwest Houston Area including ATC West Houston, ATC Woodlands, and ATC Main.

Responsibilities
Patient Care Support & Collaboration
- Complete routine and advanced patient care assignments as delegated.
- Recognize critical changes in patient status and promptly notify nursing staff.
- Escalate patient safety concerns to charge nurse or leadership.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address patient needs.
- Support activities of daily living, mobilization, admissions, discharges, and vital signs.
- Encourage patients to progress toward independence and wellness.
- Demonstrate superior customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.
Patient Safety & Equipment Management
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
- Operate, maintain, and clean patient care equipment.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch items including beds, stretchers, recliners, wheelchairs, tables, commodes, IV poles, and equipment.
- Ensure overbed tables, phones, and call lights are within reach.
- Transport and handle lab specimens, samples, and blood products promptly.
- Discard disposable supplies and return equipment to proper storage.
Clinical Support Tasks
- Assist in obtaining vital signs.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers including out-of-bed and bathroom support.
- Provide nourishment as directed by nursing staff.
- Empty drains and Foley catheters.
- Remove peripheral IVs.
- Perform point-of-care testing as applicable.
- Document patient information in the electronic health record.
Workflow & Operational Support
- Request supplies, remove soiled items, and maintain inventory, including auditing for expired materials.
- Assist with patient and family belongings.
- Transport patients to and from the lobby efficiently.
- Follow aseptic technique consistently.
- Identify barriers to patient care and contribute to solutions.
- Communicate purpose and location when leaving the unit.
Professionalism & Compliance
- Participate in team evaluations and educational events.
- Maintain unit competencies and follow regulatory and institutional policies.
- Review communication from leadership, Ambulatory Operations, and the institution.
