- Department: Radiation Oncology - Research
- Location: Houston, TX
- Posted Date: 2/24/2023
The postdoctoral fellow will execute research projects under the supervision of Dr. Clifton David Fuller, with a focus on developing skills to transition the trainee from mentored research to independent research. Research topics include image-guided radiation therapy for head and neck cancers, MRI sequence development for radiation therapy applications, computational approaches to improve treatment planning in image-guided radiation therapy, and integration of novel research developments with clinical applications. The postdoctoral fellow will assist the principal investigator with mentoring junior lab members and leading collaborative projects between the research team, clinical staff, and industry partners.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Perform imaging studies autonomously;
2. Extract parameter values from multiparametric MRIs using deep learning-based image recognition;
3. Develop statistical models to determine the optimal temporally feathered radiotherapy base model using homogenous repair time for all organs-at-risk;
4. Use statistical and deep-learning models to guide adaptive radiation plans for toxicity reduction;
5. Characterize normal tissue complications after radiation therapy for head and neck cancer.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) and to be professionally competent.
