Ambulatory HLD Reprocessing Technician (10am - 6:30pm)

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Decontamination

Identifies and follows manufactures instructions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse and disinfect instrumentation, equipment and flexible scopes.

Adheres to the proper handling of garbage, linen and biohazardous materials.

Maintains safety standards.

Assemble and prepare instrumentation for sterilization

Consistently correctly assembles, protects and wraps and/or peel packs and labels instruments for use in the center.

Identifies and inspects instruments for cleanliness and functionality.

EDUCATION

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

Diploma from an approved Sterile Processing Program.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

Two years of experience performing sterile processing and high-level disinfection in ambulatory surgery, procedure, or hospital environment.

No experience with preferred education.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Required:

One of the following:

Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).

Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).

Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD).
