Postdoctoral Fellow - Cancer Biology (Ge Lab)

The Ge laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral candidate to work in the field of
Functional Genomics and the Skin Epithelia, The Non-Coding Regulatory Landscape of Stem Cell Plasticity, Mechanistic Understanding of Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Wound Repair and Molecular Insights of Aging.

Research in the Ge lab applies principle of development biology and genetics, aiming to understand molecular mechanisms underlying SC plasticity, and how its deregulation leads to human diseases. One of the key hypotheses we set out to test is this long-postulated idea "cancer is a wound that never heals". Parallels between wounds and cancer have emerged in many contexts, begging questions in regard to their molecular origin and functional relevance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Learn to apply principles of development in biology and genetic.
Understanding molecular mechanism in underlying SC plasticity and how its deregulation leads to human diseases.
Understanding the parallels between wounds and cancer.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD in cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related fields. Experience with metabolomics, isotope tracing, protein production/purification, and gene editing techniques is advantageous.
