Senior Research Project Manager

The Senior Research Project Manager position at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center supports complex clinical research efforts within Stem Cell Transplantation Research, with a focus on advancing cell therapy and stem cell transplant clinical research programs. Salary: Minimum $93,500 - Midpoint $117,000 - Maximum $140,500

Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution
  • Manage, plan, and implement complex scientific research projects from initiation through delivery
  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed research project work plans and timelines
  • Monitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure alignment with research objectives

Scientific Oversight & Data Review
  • Oversee the review and analysis of research milestones and outcomes
  • Evaluate resulting research data and revise techniques or approaches as needed
  • Assist in writing peer-reviewed abstracts and manuscripts for submission

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise staff and trainees assigned to research projects
  • Serve as a central point of coordination among clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, and data management teams
  • Serve as a liaison to research sponsors as appropriate

Regulatory, Compliance & Reporting
  • Process and manage compliance and regulatory matters related to industry research collaborations and laboratory study agreements
  • Participate in the development, preparation, and submission of scientific progress reports

Financial & Grant Management
  • Create project budgets and collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure appropriate expense tracking
  • Manage grant applications and awarded grants

    Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree Natural sciences or related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Natural sciences or related field.
  • Preferred: PhD Natural sciences or related field. or
  • Preferred: Medical Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: Eight years Scientific or experimental research experience to include two years project management.
  • Required: Four years Scientific or experimental research experience to include one year project management with preferred Master's degree.
  • Required: Two years Scientific, experimental or related clinical specialty experience with preferred PhD or Medical degree.
