Join the MD Anderson Cancer Center Donor Operations team and serve as one of the first points of contact for blood donors, visitors, and community members supporting our lifesaving mission. This role is ideal for a customer-service focused professional who enjoys interacting with people, creating positive experiences, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment where every interaction contributes to patient care.
The Receptionist serves as the welcoming face of the donor center, providing exceptional customer service throughout the donor experience. Responsibilities include greeting donors, family members, and visitors, conducting donor registration, managing donor flow, scheduling future donation appointments, maintaining donor information, and assisting with donor follow-up activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring donors feel welcomed, informed, and appreciated throughout their visit.
The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience and a genuine passion for helping others. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with various populations, resolving concerns professionally, answering questions, and creating a positive experience for both internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and courteous in a busy environment are essential for success.
Additional responsibilities include answering and routing incoming phone calls, managing mail and package distribution, assisting with donor and visitor inquiries, coordinating communications, and supporting daily front desk operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively multitask while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Provide support to the donor throughout the donation process
- Greet donors, family members, and visitors.
- Conduct donor registration and manage donor workflow.
- Schedule future donations.
- Provide donor follow-up and employee donor identification maintenance.
Maintain customer service and professionalism
- Manage all customer service interactions with diplomacy, actively facilitating resolutions to problems and addressing the needs of clients both internal and external.
- Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with customer/donor issues.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, determine the caller's purpose and forward calls to appropriate personnel or department. Take and deliver messages if not available. Answer questions about our organization and provide callers with our address, direction, and other information.
- Resolve or appropriately route concerns to ensure response or resolution.
Perform routine receptionist work
- Perform routine receptionist work.
- Perform multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage in-coming and out-going mail and packages.
- Maintain attendance as scheduled.

- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Preferred: Associate's Degree or
some college credits.
