Postdoctoral Fellow - Radiation Physics - Research

Postdoctoral Fellow position available in the Department of Radiation Physics under the direct supervision of Dr. Tucker Netherton. This is a full-time post doc position to work on data science projects using medical imaging and medical data and advanced skills with long term goal in mind of becoming a data scientist in a rich learning and collaborative environment. This project will focus on segmentation and detection of metastatic (cancerous) lymph nodes from medical imaging. Project has opportunity of funding renewal through Tumor Measurement Initiative funding and is contingent on progress.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
To gain an advanced understanding of deep and machine learning and apply it to problem-solving in medicine.
To develop data science, health equity, and data governance skills aligned with MD Anderson's mission.
To improve scientific design, writing, collaborative science, and communication.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD in physics. Experience with Python, image processing, and machine learning in medicine, demonstrates and has a history of the desire to learn, the ability to work on a team, good character, and the ability to complete work in an academic environment.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson follows the NIH stipend levels as outlined by the Kirchstein - NRSA. This full-time trainee position will provide a salary between $56,484 to $68,604, dependent upon the years of postgraduate experience.
