The MD Anderson GU Department Prometheus Team is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the development of innovative murine models and unique discovery platforms. The research focuses on pancreatic cancer, with a particular emphasis on investigating allelic imbalance as a key mechanism of resistance and aggressiveness. In addition, the candidate will be involved in broader projects related to oncology and pancreatic malignancies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Gain experience in developing and utilizing murine models to study cancer biology and therapeutic resistance.
• Develop skills in investigating tumor evolution and mechanisms of aggressiveness.
• Acquire expertise in histopathological and molecular analysis of pancreatic cancer models.
• Build knowledge in personalized medicine and experimental therapeutics.
• Gain experience in collaborating with clinicians and experimental biologists to design and conduct studies addressing key questions in oncology.
• Develop proficiency in scientific writing and communication, including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting research at conferences.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Recent MD or Ph.D. in computational biology, informatics/bioinformatics, or other related fields.
• Prefer a candidate with an understanding of cancer biology, interest in vertical and horizontal modeling of cancer phylogeny and metastatic evolution, and ability to collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to design and execute studies that address key biological questions in cancer research.
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
