This position will encompasses using modern tools to characterize vaccine-induced systemic and mucosal immune responses, especially cell-mediated immunity, including assays based upon flow cytometry. Studies of antibody responses will include assays for antigen binding, virus neutralization, virion capture, and ADCC. This position also requires writing manuscripts and presenting results.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD or equivalent degree in immunology or virology is required. Excellent skills in performing assays for cell-mediated immunity and cell sorting are necessary. The project focuses on simian-human immunodeficiency virus (SHIV) infection of nonhuman primates. Knowledge of viral assays is highly desirable.
