Position Title: Manager, Strategic Intelligence
The Manager, Strategic Intelligence plays a critical role within the Strategic Intelligence function at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, supporting enterprise-level, data-driven strategy development through rigorous analysis, scenario modeling, and synthesis of market and competitive intelligence. The Manager, Strategic Intelligence works closely with senior leaders, including the Director, Strategic Intelligence, and partners with the Decision Intelligence team to inform executive decision-making and long-term institutional priorities. The Manager, Strategic Intelligence is expected to deliver clear, actionable, and analytically sound strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate for the Manager, Strategic Intelligence role brings a strong foundation in healthcare strategy or consulting, advanced analytical judgment, and the ability to translate complex, imperfect, and multi-source data into compelling executive-level narratives. A master's degree in analytics or a related field is preferred, along with progressive experience in healthcare strategy, strategic planning, or corporate strategy, and comfort using advanced data and analytics tools to support high-impact institutional decisions.

Salary Range (Hourly Equivalent Based on 40-Hour Work Week): Minimum $51.20 - Midpoint $63.94 - Maximum $76.68

Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis & Modeling
• Lead the development of original and complex analytic frameworks and models using quantitative and qualitative internal and external healthcare data
• Assess assumptions, evaluate strategic tradeoffs, and develop complex models to support high-impact strategic and business decisions
• Forecast trends, model scenarios, and evaluate strategic options to inform institutional investment and growth decisions
Market, Competitive & Environmental Intelligence
• Conduct comprehensive market, competitive, policy, and environmental analyses including market share, competitor strategies, payer mix, and demographic trends
• Support business case development, market assessments, and service line evaluations through data-driven insights and projections
• Analyze external forces shaping strategic decisions and assess implications for the organization

Strategic Insight & Executive Communication
• Analyze and synthesize insights from complex, multi-source data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
• Develop executive-ready presentations, decision briefs, and concise strategic summaries to guide decision-making
• Translate complex analytical findings into compelling narratives that support strategic alignment

Strategic Problem Solving & Initiative Support
• Identify, structure, and address complex or ambiguous strategic questions using sound analytical frameworks
• Contribute strategic input to the design of new initiatives by defining objectives, success metrics, and performance considerations
• Support leadership with planning, alignment, and evaluation of strategic initiatives

Data Integrity & Analytical Rigor
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and analytical rigor across all models, reports, and deliverables
• Document assumptions, limitations, and risks associated with analyses and recommendations
• Partner with the Decision Intelligence team to leverage validated data sources and tools

EDUCATION
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Marketing, or Healthcare Administration, Economics, Public Health, Data Analytics or related field.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Analytics or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 7 years Experience in healthcare strategy consulting or in a strategic planning, business development, or corporate strategy role within a healthcare organization including demonstrated progression in scope and leadership responsibility. or
  • Required: 5 years Experience required with Master's degree.
  • Preferred: Experience with data and analytics tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar tools.
  • Preferred: Experience using healthcare market and industry data sources such as Sg2, Vizient, Advisory Board, Definitive Healthcare, NCI SEER, National Cancer Database, or similar tools.
