Manager, Data Office

The successful individual will ensure that processes are appropriately built and deployed to endorse strong data stewardship, compliant data governance, and institutional growth in data-centric mindset that ensures data is at the center of decision making to achieve faster and more accurate data-informed decisions.

Provides leadership and maintains customer relationships
Act as the liaison across all components of the Research Data Office including the development of joint meetings across teams to ensure robust bidirectional communication to relay iterative improves in processes while gathering and collating feedback and clarifications that ensure the consistent management of data requests across the entire Research Data Office.
Regularly monitor and evaluate data requests from across the Research Data Office
Identify new areas of opportunity for high-impact initiatives such as resource optimization and waste reduction and empower a high-performing team to achieve them.

The Manager is responsible for leading the administrative coordination of the Strategic Partner Data Collaboration (SPDC) Data Offices and related components in tight coordination with the Data Governance and Provenance Office and our Data Impact and Governance department. In this role, the Manager will contribute to shaping the processes, communications, and strategy for data management with collective input from the institution. The SPDC Data Office Manager will be responsible for monitoring, collating, tracking and analyzing data requests and coordinating with the appropriate governing bodies to prioritize execution of requests, including the tracking of requests and identification of duplicate requests. Additionally, this individual will coordinate with the project management team, the Data Governance and Provenance Office and institutional data teams to support data management project implementations, data integrations, data reporting, data loading and quality control processes across the Context Engine.

Promotes process improvement and compliance
Ensure that all data office activities are aligned and compliant to established data management and data request process(es)
Continuously seek improvements to existing processes and work with the Data Governance and Provenance Office in the approval and deployment of new processes
Monitor adherence to legal and compliance regulations.
Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems and processes to protect delicate information.
Communicate opportunities for improvements in tools and/or processes to support data governance.
Identify obstacles to change and recommend corrective action with timely escalation and support as needed. "

Other duties as assigned

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Health Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Organizational Management or related field.

Preferred Education: Master's Level Degree

Experience Required:
Seven years of experience in data science, data governance, data analytics, information services, or project management or program management in data management initiatives. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, five years of experience in data science, data governance, data analytics, information services, or project management or program management in data management initiatives.

Preferred Experience: 7+ years of experience in project or program management in data management initiatives. Less experience will be considered with preferred degree

Strong business acumen, leadership, change management, influence, and collaboration skills
