Postdoctoral Fellow - Radiation Oncology- Manzar Lab

The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to assist the Principal Investigator and other Faculty members with scientific research projects. The primary activity of this position is academic research in association with a faculty member or team. An opening currently exists with a examining the potential synergy of radiation therapy with CAR-NK cell therapy in head and neck cancer and pediatric diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), among other tumor types, animal models of tumorigenesis and immune responses against these cancers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Perform technical laboratory duties, techniques, in vivo and in vitro experiments studying cancer biology and response to treatments including immunotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

2. Projects may include in vitro and in vivo cytotoxicity and immune-profiling assays; small animal image-guided radiotherapy; tissue harvesting and microscopy; in vivo and ex vivo immunological assays; in vitro radiosensitivity assays; implementation/development of novel protocols and procedures; execution of experiments; analysis of results.

3. Familiarity with histology and animal husbandry is preferred. Ideal candidates would possess experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and flow cytometry.

4. Training and supervising other research personnel on techniques and equipment procedures.

5. Maintenance of laboratory safety procedures records and facilities.

6. Collect, analyze, and plot data using appropriate software applications, and store and record data on computer and lab notebooks.

6. Assist in writing scientific papers for publication, grant applications, and presentations at scientific meetings.

7. Other duties as assigned.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION

Required: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate

EXPERIENCE

Required: Six years of experience in scientific or experimental research work

Preferred: With preferred degree, four years of required experience

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
