Postdoc Fellow - Radiation Oncology Research (Dr. Enderling's Lab)
- Requisition #: 600661-202311221324
- Department: Radiation Oncology - Research
- Location: Houston, TX
- Posted Date: 11/22/2023
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to assist the Principal Investigator and other Faculty members with scientific research projects. The primary activity of this position is academic research in association with a faculty member or team. A position is available immediately in the area of mathematical and computational oncology, with special emphasis on biological radiotherapy response dynamics. The laboratory has identified novel mathematical modeling biomarkers to predict patient-specific responses to radiation. These models need to be rigorously calibrated and validated against clinical data, and model selection needs to be performed before prospective clinical translation. Research will be conducted in both mathematical and computational models, and rigorous analysis of model performance against clinical benchmarks.

Expected learning outcomes, goals of the training in terms of demonstrable skills or knowledge that will be acquired.
1. Develop, implement, and solve mathematical and computational model of tumor growth and treatment response.
2. Familiarity with MatLab and R is preferred. Ideal candidates would possess experience in multiple programming environments and statistical analyses.
3. Training and supervising other research personnel on techniques and procedures.
4. Maintenance of laboratory safety procedures and records and facilities.
5. Collect, analyze, and plot data using appropriate software applications, and store and record data on computer and lab notebooks.
6. Assist in writing scientific papers for publication, grant applications, and presentations at scientific meetings
7.) Other duties as assigned.
