SUMMARY
Maintains working order of the Emergency Power Supply System (EPSS).
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Generator Mechanic Tests, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs generators and associated equipment to comply with the Joint Commission and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements for healthcare facilities. Performs monthly, annual, and tri-annual tests to ensure reliability of EPSS. Conducts weekly generator room inspections. Performs monthly fuel inventory to comply with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements for leak detection. Runs and monitors generators to support project and preventative maintenance outages
Team Support Provide support for the HVPS Electricians, Stationary Engineers and Physical Plant Techs for all BAS or controls related issues; assist in support for Utility Outages.
Project Support Provide Project Support for facility management projects; review plans and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications and applicable codes; perform inspections on all components of the EPSS and provide comments to Project Manager; participate in commissioning and Integrated System Testing to ensure proper performance of systems.
Other Other duties as assigned
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Eight years of experience in maintenance and repair of generators.
