The mission of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
The primary purpose of the Director, CAO Administration is to lead administrative aspects of the CAO enterprise. The Director serves as the administrator and financial leader for the Chief Academic Officer organization. Requires strong partnerships across the institution to facilitate effective achievement of CAO goals.
Key Functions
Financial & Resource Management
Serve as the go to person for all financial matters for the CAO Enterprise. Lead the creation of performance indicators and provide analysis to measure performance.
Administration
Lead projects and key initiatives for the CAO through informal leadership of stakeholders utilizing influence and subject matter expertise.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field.
CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred:
· PMP (Project Management Professional)
· CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional) - mid-level healthcare professionals with a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in healthcare provider operations
· Six Sigma Certification
· Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) - managing complex datasets, including faculty, research, and institutional databases, with a focus on data governance and strategic application.
· Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) - Reflects expertise in Agile project management methodologies, supporting the development of innovative solutions and adaptability in dynamic academic settings.
Experience: Ten (10) years of related administrative experience in an academic, research or healthcare environment; experience to include budgeting, financial reporting, cost analysis, data analysis, benchmarking, strategic planning, query development and report design; exceptional analytical and software skills; at least five (5) years of management experience.

Key Functions

- Lead the annual operating budget process through proactive analysis and preparation for the CAO enterprise.
- Create executive quality reports and analytics.
- Oversee monthly reconciliation and budget variance reporting.
- Direct all fund allocations for funds under the stewardship of the Chief Academic Officer.
- Manage the ePAF review and approval process for all personnel actions that report to the Chief Academic Officer.
- Oversee the merit and Performance Incentive Programs for the departments that report directly to the Chief Academic Officer.
- Prepare justification/presentation for all SPMC position requests on behalf of the CAO.
- Serve as the lead for infrastructure (space and things) for the CAO Enterprise.
Administration
Lead projects and key initiatives for the CAO through informal leadership of stakeholders utilizing influence and subject matter expertise.
- Develop and determines priorities and monitors status of special projects as assigned.
- Develop and maintains collaborative relationships with all academic areas to maximize efficiency and provide the highest quality of outcomes for the institution.
- Manage the ePAF review and approval process for all faculty personnel action.
- Manage the endowed academic positions and awards program.
- Develop direct report for their personal and professional growth.
Strategic Planning
Lead the preparation of information to support strategic planning in partnership with leaders within the CAO organization.
- Complete feasibility studies, and analyses of new programs and processes in order to determine the benefit, efficiencies gained, and financial contribution.
- Serve as a representative for the Chief Academic Office on task forces, institutional committees and at routine and ad-hoc meetings.
- Produce reports to support decision making and analyzes outcomes.
- Serve as a liaison for philanthropic initiatives.
