Sr. Research Assistant - Dr. Majumder (Genetics)
- Requisition #: 170178
- Location: Houston, TX
- Posted Date: 12/11/2024
SUMMARY
The Majumder Lab is focused on (1) deciphering the mechanisms that control normal development and how aberrations of such mechanisms produce diseases, and (2) investigating how such knowledge can be translated into improved patient care.
The Sr. Research Assistant will be involved in studying the mechanisms of chronic pain or brain tumors or both in mouse models and determining how these mechanisms can be utilized in therapeutic interventions. Various experimental approaches will include measuring chronic pain, isolating the dorsal root ganglion and spinal cord, mouse brain tumor isolation, and conducting biochemical and molecular analyses such as Western blot, quantitative RT-PCR, immunofluorescence, etc. Excellent experience working with relevant molecular biology and neuroscience techniques in mouse models is desirable.
