Program Manager and Design and Editorial Specialist (Institutional Compliance)

The primary purpose of the Program Manager position is to facilitate and manage design, editorial, project management, data analysis, and reporting functions in support of the Associate Vice President & Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (AVP & DCCO).

This includes developing and editing presentations and other content, such as images, graphs, and icons, to clearly communicate Institutional Compliance incidents, risks, and project-based work to institutional leadership. In addition, the role will develop and edit materials for specialized training and education, and will play a key role in managing and preparing content for reporting to committees that oversee and assist in Institutional Compliance program activities. The role also assists the AVP & DCCO in managing critical department and institutional projects.

KEY FUNCTIONS

1. Using institutional brand and editorial standards, creates presentations and supporting materials for executive leadership, including and especially the Executive Institutional Compliance Committee (EICC), on large and complex investigations, risks, corrective action plans, and projects. Tasks include:

a. identifying appropriate image files to support key messages;

b. original creation of artwork using Adobe Creative Cloud tools to illustrate concepts, timelines, relationships, etc.;

c. original creation of content at the direction of the AVP & DCCO;

d. editing content for consistency, grammar, and punctuation; and

e. reviewing content to ensure it aligns with institutional style standards.

2. In collaboration with the Institutional Compliance Programs team, develops presentations and supporting materials related to large and complex institutional and departmental initiatives, and supports outreach efforts implemented related to AVP & DCCO efforts.

3. Coordinates and organizes inter-departmental projects. Plans and develops projects through initiation, execution, deployment, and after-action assessment. Serves as a central point of contact in facilitating completion of cross-departmental projects. Notifies key stakeholders of milestones achieved and missed; project progress; potential gaps, barriers and delays; and resource needs.

4. Provides direction, edits, and produces materials for specific remedial/corrective education and training, including training for faculty and administrators found materially deficient in one or more key compliance areas. Coordinates with the Strategic Communications team as needed for institution-wide messaging and video creation. Coordinates with the Leadership Institute as needed for development of computer-based training courses in the institution's learning management system.

5. Performs special projects and/or other duties as assigned by the AVP & DCCO.

6. Daily use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, to produce materials for AVP & DCCO efforts. Leverages slide masters, style sheets, and other global formatting tools to effectively create materials with a consistent look-and-feel.

7. Intermittent use of the Adobe Creative Cloud to edit photographs, create artwork, and search for appropriate images. Conceptualizes end-use of artwork to determine the best format (e.g., raster, vector) for source files.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Publishing, Communications, Business, Marketing, , or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.

Preferred: Six years experience in original graphics creation (medical graphics, commercial illustration, technical illustration, and/or animation), data visualization, writing, editing, and analytics reporting. This requires proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Power BI. Three to six years of experience in project management (planning, initiation, execution, deployment, after-action assessment).

SKILLS AND CREDENTIALS

Writing and Editing Skills

Strong grammar, syntax and writing skills. Knowledge of AP Stylebook or Chicago Manual of Style.

Proofreading and editing skills to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy in both written and visual content.

Tailoring writing for different audiences, whether formal business presentation or creative corporate storytelling.

Soft Skills

Attention to detail - precision in both writing and design.

Creativity and innovation - ability to think outside the box to create visually compelling, clear, and engaging presentations and other content.

Communication skills - clear communicator with institutional leaders, department, and workforce.
