A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Radiation Physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA under the direction of Dr. Jinzong Yang. The position is responsible for developing AI-based deformable registration algorithms for reliable measurement of CT perfusion parameters for lung and liver tumors with respiratory motion during image acquisition in clinical practice. This project will include image data curation, algorithm development, and data analysis using computational tools. This position will collaborate closely with medical physicists and radiologists to understand the clinical routine of CT perfusion image acquisition and address special technical hurdles in CT perfusion measurement. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to present relevant scientific findings at project meetings, national and international conferences, and via publication in top-tier scientific journals.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The potential candidate is expected to learn:
1) CT perfusion image acquisition and measurement;
2) deep learning deformable registration model training and validation;
3) deep learning image segmentation model training and validation.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated experience in medical image analysis, data science, deep learning, machine learning, and proficiency in Python or MATLAB programming languages.
