A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in the Department of Imaging Physics in the laboratory of Richard Bouchard, Ph.D. Dr. Bouchard has focused his research program on clinically translatable photoacoustic-ultrasonic (PAUS), CEUS, and acoustic radiation force (ARF)-based elasticity imaging technologies. Specifically, Dr. Bouchard is investigating novel uses of these technologies in the detection, assessment, and treatment-monitoring of cancer and cardiac disease. To this end, Dr. Bouchard has invested considerable effort in the development of quantitative imaging approaches for both endogenous (e.g., hemoglobin) and exogenous (e.g., molecularly targeted nanoparticles or phase-changing nanodroplets) in both tissue-mimicking phantom and preclinical (e.g., murine) models.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The fellow will participate in a highly productive multi-disciplinary research program developing novel photoacoustic imaging techniques for cancer research. The fellow will have an opportunity to contribute to ongoing basic and translational research projects and will be encouraged to explore and develop new areas of research interest. The fellow will collaborate and coordinate with research and clinical stakeholders and communicate findings via abstracts, poster and podium presentations, and publications.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D. in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Ph.D. in other natural science disciplines will be considered.
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
