Postdoctoral Fellow - Biostatistics (Shang Lab)

The Shang Lab within the Department of Biostatistics and Yuan Lab within the Department of Translational Molecular Pathology and at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position. The Shang lab develops cutting-edge computational and statistical methods for genetic and genomic studies including spatial transcriptomics and single cell RNA sequencing. The Yuan lab designs impact-driven strategies and artificial intelligence (AI) engines to accelerate the applications of AI and data science to digital pathology. The focus of this joint project is to decipher how the immune microenvironment shapes the evolution of immune escape and drug resistance. The successful candidate will under the supervision of Dr. Lulu Shang and Dr. Yinyin Yuan on developing and applying computational tools to study immune response in cancer using state-of-the-art deep learning methods and spatial omics.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Develop innovative computational methods to integrate spatial transcriptomics and histopathology image data.
• Conduct analyses to identify and characterize the spectrum of immune processes in various cancer types.
• Publish and present research findings in scientific journals and conferences.
• Engage and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment, foster open communication and mutual respect, ensure productive teamwork and effective cooperation.
