The MD Anderson Leadership Institute is seeking a driven individual with an interest in conducting and disseminating organizational research. In this highly developmental position, you will be working with leadership experts to conduct research on a myriad of programs and topics related to employee and leadership development (e.g., inclusion, selection, change, coaching, mentoring, teams). You will have the opportunity to work with an abundance of existing employee and organizational data, collect new data, design new research projects that fit your interests, and join ongoing research projects. You will also help evaluate leadership development programs, including creating surveys, analyzing data and visualizing results, and have ample opportunities for writing manuscripts for publication in academic and practitioner outlets.
We are seeking an individual who has a passion for working in healthcare and for leadership research in pursuit of the ultimate goal of safe and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously, have an interest in both research and applied work, and thrive in an autonomous work environment. Candidates should also have interest in translating this research to evidence-based best practices and tools for organizations.
This is a remote position which does not require Texas residency, and applications will be accepted from residents of most (33) states. However, MD Anderson is unable to accept applications from candidates residing in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Washington, Washington DC, and West Virginia.
Applications for this remote position are accepted on a rolling basis with the following application deadlines:
• Summer Session: June - August; full time 40 hours per week. Application deadline March 1st.
• Fall Session: September - December; part time 20 hours per week. Application deadline June 1st.
• Spring Session: January - May; part time 20 hours per week. Application deadline October 1st.
Two semesters minimum is preferred. Please note your desired start and end dates in statement of interest.
As a Graduate Student Research Trainee, you will gain valuable exposure to a world-renowned healthcare organization and leading experts in leadership development and will develop skills needed to be successful in both the academic and applied fields.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Design new research projects
• Evaluate development programs, including creating surveys, analyzing data, and visualizing results
• Write manuscripts for publication in academic and practitioner outlets
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Currently enrolled in an I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Factors Psychology, or related field from an accredited program
• Proficiency in all stages of the research process
• Strong methodological and analytical skills
• Proficiency in data collection/statistical software (e.g., Excel, R, SPSS, Qualtrics, Power BI)
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and autonomously
ADDITIONAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
Students will receive a stipend of approximately $23 per hour for the duration of the engagement. Stipends are paid on the 5th and 20th of each month, deducting the required federal taxes.
