HVAC Mechanic - Weekend Nights

Work Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 7pm-7:30am and Monday & Tuesday, 11pm-7:30am

Repair and maintain HVAC equipment, response to customer calls, provide support to emergencies

Interprets and works from blueprints, sketches and diagrams. Estimates cost of work and may order materials and maintain inventory. Discusses issues, concerns and process improvement options with Supervisor.

Responsible for completing work order and asset documentation according to CMMS Standards. Provides accurate information on labor hours & material used to complete the work, work preformed, notes any additional required work &/or asset asset information.

Performs Preventative Maintenance on HVAC equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and and CMMS directed work.

Installs, maintains and repairs variety of HVAC work incidental to the installation and repair of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and related BAS systems.

Investigates outages, supports or preforms other work as necessary in the management of the work load

The employee may be expected to be part of an on-call group, and when assigned this responsibility, will be compensated for that time. When on-call, the employee must be available and be able to respond in accordance to policy. Periods of alert when Emergency Conditions may be expected are not considered on-call.

This position is considered "essential personnel" in the event of suspension of normal operations due to inclement weather or other emergencies. They are required to perform duties as outlined in the Emergency Management Plans.

Other incidental or related duties as required.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Maintain, Repair, Troubleshoot Installs, repairs, and maintains HVAC equipment.
Serves as an HVAC/R member of the PM team.
Installs, repairs, and maintains refrigeration equipment.
Completes all required paperwork - timesheets, activity logs, etc.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the job.
Understands the use of all hand and shop tools of the trade.
Requisitions materials and maintain inventory.

Ability to apply craft skills knowledge. Monitors and troubleshoots HVAC issues through BAS systems and/or other diagnostic tools. Follows schedule of preventive maintenance and makes recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems. Investigates outages. Inspects jobs on completion for compliance to work requests, job requirements, specifications, and applicable codes.

Emergency responses Emergency responses for facilities including code red

High school diploma or equivalent. Four years experience in a mechanical field to include commercial installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, control systems or other mechanical environments. Three years of experience required with preferred Associates degree, as referenced by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR). Two years of experience required with preferred Bachelors degree, as referenced by the TDLR.

Certification: Universal Certification by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Valid Class A, B or C Texas driver's license and eligible to drive State and institutional vehicles. Registered Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) Technician issued by the State of Texas. Certified Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (ACR) Technician issued by the State of Texas.
