The primary purpose of the Strategic Communications, Photography position is to learn about healthcare strategic communications and support the creation of healthcare-themed visual content for MD Anderson's constituents that adhere to the institution's brand and visual identity.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The student will work on the following tasks:
Photography / Photography assistance: Under the direction and supervision of Creative Communication professionals, photographs and/or assists photographers in creating brand-appropriate visual content per assignments. Incorporates learnings related to best practices and institutional branding. Works towards technical mastery of photographic equipment, including digital capture devices, lighting, and grip.
Creative Presentation: Completes a presentation summarizing their work and learning from a completed photographic project. Project may be self-originated or assigned, based on agreement with supervisor.
Other duties as assigned. Attends related planning and logistics meetings with other departments to develop business relationships related to photography.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18-years-old and currently enrolled in a degree-granting college or university with a major in Photography/Visual Communications, Graphic/Digital Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
POSITION INFORMATION
This part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) offers a stipend of $18,720 or $18 per hour.04/10/2025
