The Threat and Risk Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing data from various sources to reduce threats and criminal risks to the institution. Configures and audits police and security technology applications and systems. Produces reports, identifies trends, and develops strategies to increase safety to the institution. Assists with outreach efforts to educate on behavioral patterns and trends. Ensures information management procedures comply with federal, state, and institutional policies.
The ideal candidate is a detail oriented threat and risk professional with strong analytical skills and experience leveraging security technologies and cross-functional collaboration to identify trends, mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance institutional safety.

Research and Analysis Researches, analyzes, and reports on data from various sources related to threat/risk incidents, and investigations. Identify trends and make recommendations to mitigate risk and increase campus safety based on research and analysis. Provides technology support and research for security systems.
Teamwork Teams with other Threat & Risk Protections Analysts and other UT Police Combined Protection Model members to provide analysis and solutions to threat/risk incidents. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to gather and implement building/space access strategies and implementation.
Compliance Ensures information management procedures comply with federal, state, and institutional policies. Configure and audit electronic security and law enforcement technology systems including, but not limited to, video management and access control systems. Conduct data collection and analysis for administrative, security and law enforcement investigations.
Other Duties as Assigned Other duties to include, but not limited to, emergency recall and/or may be required to remain onsite or work extended hours during man-made or natural disasters and unusual occurrences on campus. Local or long-distance travel may be required for training or other business purposes occasionally.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: Master's Degree Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice Management, Police Science, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or Public Health.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years experience in risk evaluation and analysis, threat assessments and analysis, law enforcement, general case investigations, behavioral intervention analysis, crisis management, security systems, or conflict resolution. With Master's degree, Three years experience in risk evaluation and analysis, threat assessments and analysis, law enforcement, general case investigations, behavioral intervention analysis, crisis management, security systems, or conflict resolution. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: TDL - Texas Drivers License Valid Class C Texas driver's license.
Preferred: Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) certification from the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association (NABITA), Certification in Crisis Intervention Negotiation, Certified Threat Manager from the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).
