Research Data Coordinator Integrative Medicine Research

This is a randomized feasibility study testing a virtual lifestyle intervention for women with stable, hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. Participants receive an online lifestyle program alone or with Zoom-based group support and optional individual health coaching, targeting diet, physical activity, stress management, and psychosocial barriers. The Research Data Coordinator will manage and track feasibility metrics and patient-reported outcomes, including health behaviors and quality of life, to support a future larger clinical trial.

This prehabilitation program for ovarian cancer patients focuses on optimizing physical and emotional health before surgery through evidence-based lifestyle behaviors. Participants are supported in improving nutrition, gentle and progressive movement, stress management, sleep quality, and other healthy habits to build strength, resilience, and confidence heading into treatment. By addressing both physical conditioning and psychosocial well-being, the program aims to help patients enter surgery in the strongest possible position, potentially supporting better recovery and quality of life.

This position will require some travel to regional locations may be needed (League City, Woodlands, Sugar Land, and West Houston) to meet patients for study-related assessments.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Study Coordination & Participant Management:
Screens potential participants for eligibility based on defined protocol criteria.
Recruits and consents participants for research studies.
Coordinates participants' study timelines and ensures timely completion of questionnaires and required assessments.
Conducts ongoing follow-up via phone, in-clinic, or virtual platforms to collect study-related data.
Serves as a point of contact for participants to support retention and address study-related questions.

Data Collection & Reporting:
Collects, enters, and verifies research data in REDCap and departmental databases.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of all study data.
Supports preparation of reports for study monitoring, compliance needs, and sponsor or regulatory submissions.
Maintains organized documentation of study activities, participant flow, and data-tracking systems.

Protocol Support & Communication:
Assists the research team in preparing study-specific materials such as recruitment scripts, data forms, and follow-up tools.
Participates in regular study meetings to review enrollment progress, data completeness, and study needs.
Coordinates with clinical teams to ensure study activities align with clinical schedules and operations.

EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years related experience. No experience required with preferred degree.
Preferred: Experience coordinating research studies, including participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection in systems like REDCap, and supporting protocol requirements.
