Senior Project Manager - ERP (Technology, Data and Innovation)

The Senior Project Manager of Enterprise Resource Planning will serve as a key contributor within the CTDO Project Management department, overseeing large and complex initiatives that support technology, data, and innovation priorities. This role provides leadership, structure, and oversight for strategic, cross-functional efforts while ensuring alignment with institutional goals and PMO best practices.

The Senior Project Manager of Enterprise Resource Planning will guide teams, manage resources, and uphold quality standards across full-cycle project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have full-cycle ERP implementation experience along with advanced experience in complex program leadership, technical project management, and change management. Preferred preparation includes a master's degree in a related field, direct enterprise-wide ERP implementation leadership experience, and professional project management certification.

Minimum $123,000 - Midpoint $154,000 - Maximum $185,000
The typical work schedule is hybrid onsite/remote, with the ability to work onsite in the Houston, Texas Medical Center as needed. Once the ERP program ramps up, the position may require 100% onsite presence.

Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Leadership
• Motivate, guide, and inspire teams toward shared project goals
• Facilitate discussions, negotiate solutions, and resolve conflicts constructively
• Coach and mentor TDI Project Managers and contract project management resources
• Evaluate project impact on business operations and strategic outcomes
• Engage with leaders and stakeholders to communicate project value and manage expectations
• Develop, document, and maintain program/project requirements with sponsors and key contributors
Domain Expertise & Project Execution
• Apply PMO best practices and related frameworks for governance, quality, and portfolio oversight
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including scope, schedules, timelines, budgets, testing, training, command center plans, transition plans, and status reports
• Ensure accurate and timely updates in PMO systems and platforms
• Document technical requirements, system specifications, and architectural needs in collaboration with technical teams
• Oversee customer reviews, approvals, testing validations, and go-live readiness
• Coordinate training development and delivery for end users and stakeholder groups
Resource, Risk & Financial Management
• Allocate and oversee human and financial resources across initiatives
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses to maintain alignment with funding
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively
• Manage vendor relationships and project deliverable ownership
Organizational Efficiency & Communication
• Communicate effectively across project teams and stakeholders through written and verbal channels
• Escalate issues promptly and provide clear project updates and meeting participation
• Drive actions that maintain project scope, schedule, and budget integrity
• Evaluate and recommend process, tool, and methodology improvements
• Build strong customer and vendor relationships and foster productive team collaboration
• Adjust approach to meet evolving project and stakeholder needs

EDUCATION
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 6 years Experience to include five years in project management and five years in application and/or infrastructure services. or
  • 4 years Experience is required to include three years in project management and three years in application and/or infrastructure services with preferred degree.
  • May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
  • Preferred: Direct experience leading end-to-end full- cycle enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations, have at least seven years of experience leading through implementation large-scale and high-complex programs and/or projects that were implemented enterprise-wide, program/project management experience with vendor management, defining project scopes, planning detailed schedules, budget cost control, quality management, execution of defined deliverables, monitoring/reporting back and closing programs/projects. Have at least 5 years of experience with implementing technology, data and/or innovation solutions and must have excellent communication skills, be self-driven and proactive.

    Work Schedule: Hybrid onsite/remote, and must be willing to work onsite in the Houston, Texas Medical Center area daily or as needed. Once the ERP program ramps up, may be working 100% onsite.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI
