A Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available in the Department of Radiation Physics in Dr. Jinzhong Yang's lab at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA. The position is responsible for developing AI-based deformable registration algorithms for dose accumulation in MR-guided online adaptive radiotherapy and implement the developed tools in clinical use. This project will include image data curation, algorithm development, and data analysis using computational tools. This position will collaborate with medical physicists and radiation oncologists closely to understand clinical routine of MR-Linac treatment and develop the tools to assist clinical decision-making for online adaptive treatment. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to present relevant scientific findings at project meetings, national and international conferences, and via publications in top-tier scientific journals.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The potential candidate is expected to learn: 1) MR-guided online adaptive radiotherapy and dose accumulation; 2) deep learning deformable registration model training and validation; 3) deep learning image segmentation model training and validation.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates from a diverse background are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant must hold a Ph.D. in the fields of Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated experience in medical image analysis, data science, deep learning, machine learning, and proficiency in Python programming languages.
