Postdoctoral Fellow - Experimental Radiation Oncology

The Postdoctoral Fellow serves as a vital scientific collaborator, assisting the Principal Investigator in the advancement of high-impact research projects. Operating with significant independence, the Fellow is responsible for the conceptualization, design, and initiation of sophisticated experiments, often developing or adapting specialized equipment to ensure precise results. This role requires a strategic approach to problem-solving, involving the establishment of clear research objectives, the critical evaluation of complex data, and the continuous refinement of methodologies to overcome scientific challenges. Beyond the bench, the Fellow provides essential leadership by planning research activities and providing technical training for laboratory personnel, while also ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and equipment management. By synthesizing and reporting findings to senior leadership and the broader scientific community, the Postdoctoral Fellow significantly contributes to the institution's mission to drive progress in cancer research.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• To investigate the mechanisms of metastasis and cell plasticity
• Utilize a comprehensive approach involving genetically engineered organoids, mouse
models, patient samples, and single-cell and spatial transcriptomics.
• Develop expertise in cutting-edge single-cell biology techniques, genetically engineered
organoids, and advanced microscopy.
• Functions in an independent manner in the design, initiation, and completion of research
experiments.
• Compiles and submits project results to superiors; writes manuscripts.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D. degree and some experience in molecular biology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics or related fields. Applicants must have high level of written and oral communication skills in English. Experience working with mice are preferred.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
