The Postdoctoral Fellow will assist the principal investigator with clinical, translational, and basic scientific research projects. Functions independently in the design and initiation of research experiments. Designs, develops, or adapts equipment used in experiments or research to achieve desired results. Determines specific goals or objectives to be obtained, evaluates research data, and develops or revises techniques or approaches to address work problems.
Interfaces with electronic medical records and databases containing tissue samples and tumor molecular data. Plans training and research activities for assigned laboratory and research personnel. Supervises the use of laboratory equipment and ensures implementation of safety procedures.
Compiles, writes, and submits project results for publication. Independently writes grant applications and assists the principal investigator with grant submissions. Collaborates with both experimental and computational members of the lab.
Additionally:
a. Independently proposes innovative solutions to research projects and contributes to project goals through computational analysis; demonstrates willingness and ability to learn and adapt existing bioinformatics tools for application to his/her research projects.
b. Interprets, presents, and reports research findings at internal meetings and, when appropriate, at external scientific conferences.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Graduate degree in medicine, science, engineering field or bioinformatics
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
