Community Representative (Spanish Preferred) - Blood Donor Services

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree & be bilingual in Spanish. They will also be comfortable presenting and asking questions in front of a large group of people.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Performs all Recruitment Operations Processes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Schedules blood drives that amount to 800 registrations per month to ensure institutional needs for blood collections are met
• Organizes and maintains accurate information on Mobile Drive Sheets to ensure efficient collection drives
• Develops and fosters working relationships with community partners (businesses, churches) to help promote blood collection activities
• Contacts high schools in territory to encourage their participation in the High School Donor Program
• Educates donor groups concerning the institution's needs for blood and platelet donations
• Assists in the development of strategies to increase blood and platelet collection activities
• Represents M. D. Anderson Blood Bank at community events such as health fairs and expos

Manages all customer service interactions with diplomacy, actively facilitating resolutions to problems and addressing needs of clients, both internal and external• Embraces and demonstrates, as a role model, the roles and responsibilities of the Customer Service Program

• Promotes a positive communication effort through personal actions ensuring all encounters, verbal, written and silent (body language), with internal and external customers are professional and respectful.

• Solicits feedback from collection drive Chairpeople, in form of Chairperson Survey, Mystery Donor Survey and email/verbal communication, to continually improve the department's customer service

• Utilizes ten-foot rule greeting everyone in a professional and respectful manner

Participates in Training and Development / Quality Assurance as it pertains to Recruitment Processes
• Maintains competency requirements including continuing education and Donor Operations SOP
• Obtains training to become proficient in the Registration portion of the donation process
• Ensures mobile collection activities are efficient and productive
• Maintains donor operations recruitment equipment and materials
• Assists in the inventory of appreciation items, ensuring that proper levels of items are in storage area

Other duties as assigned

Associates degree. Three years experience in sales, public relations or related field. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
